Personally I feel that it's more important to format it like the successors biografypages are presented. An image would also be suiting. I'll see what I can do, if I can remember :P Dead-Inside 14:33, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This page needs a new image. --Dahlis 21:35, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is a bizarre and awful article. During 23 years in power, Tage Erlander spent most of his time building concentration camps and making lists of Roma. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.237.48.109 (talk) 11:52, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Longest serving head of government in a democratic country?

[edit]

W.L. Mackenzie King was prime minister of the Dominion of Canada for 32 consecutive years. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.65.159.153 (talk) 22:19, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Erlander had the longest uninterrupted tenure. King was PM for three different periods, not consecutively as you proclaim. Shoplifter (talk) 19:52, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Even combining the different periods, William Lyon Mackenzie King was prime minister for only 22 years, shorter than Erlander's tenure. --Roentgenium111 (talk) 19:17, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Quality

[edit]

The quality of this piece is very poor. Whilst it is appropriate to question idealized accounts, to imply that Erlander (or Moeller) was a 'Himmler light' is a travesty. Perhaps a few lines could be used to account for his achievement of eliminating poverty and social insecurity in Sweden...and consolidate democracy? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.63.255.186 (talk) 06:39, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article is VERY poor. It states that "until the 1960's taxes were lower in Sweden than in the U.S.". But when you click on the reference article provided to back up this assertion it states no such thing. It merely says that in the 1960's taxes in Sweden, Denmark and Norway were SIMILAR to the U.S. NOT lower. When you attempt to click the link that is supposed to back up the assertion that he wanted to take "radical action" against gypsies the link does not work.
